SheRISES – An Evening of Recovery, Resilience and Renewal

Please join us for this important gathering of community to create awareness about the barriers facing women to recover from substance use disorders, hosted by Recovery Acres Calgary Society and Alcove Addiction Recovery Centre for Women, and chaired by Denise Summers, an aspiHer Member.

Addiction doesn’t just happen ‘over there’. It could be someone in your family, neighbourhood, in your book club, in your walking group.
She…could be your sister, your friend, your neighbour, your colleague…and she could have substance use issues.

She could be afraid to ask for help, worried about judgement from her community and face other barriers to recovering from her addiction and to the hopes of leading a happy and fulfilling life.

Hear from Keynote Speaker, Dr. Victoria Burns, an international Recovery Expert, associate professor in the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Calgary and the founder and director of both the UCalgary Recovery Community and Recovery on Campus Alberta.

Followed by a panel moderated by Alison Pidskalny, sought-after speaker, moderator, and strategic advisor, Past Chair of Movement 51, a founding owner of Calgary Wild FC, and Co-Chair of Rosé and Croquet.
