A hands-on workshop designed to give women leaders the confidence, knowledge, and practical experience to actively shape AI adoption within their organizations. Participants will explore AI’s role in business transformation, engage in guided hands-on learning, and leave with clear next steps to lead technology-driven change

Half-day (2 hours)

Facilitated by Society 5.0 + industry AI practitioners
Workshop Flow
Part 1 — Leadership Conversation (30 minutes)
Purpose: Create shared understanding, reduce fear, and frame AI as a business tool.
• Opening remarks: The state of AI in Canadian business
• Fireside chat or panel:
o Why AI now?
o Impact on employees and culture
o Ethical and responsible adoption
o Measuring ROI on technology
• Interactive Q&A
• Small-table discussion:
o “Where could AI create value in your organization?”
Output: Each participant identifies 1–2 opportunity areas.
Part 2 — AI Foundations (30 minutes)
• What AI can and cannot do today
• Demonstration of practical tools:
o Generative AI
o Data summarization
o Process automation examples
• Prompting basics
Output: Comfort and baseline knowledge before hands-on work.
Part 3 — Hands-On Lab (60 minutes)
Participants work on laptops with guided facilitators.
Choose 2–3 activities:
• Build effective prompts for real business tasks
• Create an AI-assisted workflow
• Analyze a sample dataset
• Draft communications or reports using AI tools
• Map a process for automation
Facilitators circulate to support.
Output: Each participant completes a usable AI task relevant to their role.
