SUMMARY:It Can Happen to Anyone - Domestic Violence and Coercive Control: Recognizing the Early Warning Signs
DESCRIPTION:It Can Happen to Anyone \nDomestic Violence and Coercive Control: Recognizing the Early Warning Signs \nWhat if those first red flags are easy to miss? \nDomestic Violence rarely starts with physical acts. Often\, it begins with behaviours that can feel like love\, concern\, or protection. What feels romantic at first can gradually become something quite different. \nBehaviour patterns used to gain power in the relationship\, like monitoring where you are\, managing finances “for your benefit”\, or becoming upset when you spend time with friends or family—these are called Coercive Control. And it can be as destructive as physical violence. \nNovember is Alberta Family Violence Prevention Month. Across the province\, communities are coming together to increase awareness\, encourage conversations\, and help prevent abuse before it escalates. \nPlease join us for an evening exploring:\n• Why abuse can happen in any relationship and why it is often unrecognized\n• The early warning signs of coercive control and abuse\n• How to support someone you are worried about and start a safe conversation\n• Local resources and where to turn for help \nNo prior knowledge is needed\, just an open mind and a willingness to learn. You will leave with the knowledge and confidence to recognize warning signs earlier\, support someone you care about\, or better understand experiences that often remain hidden. \nBecause domestic violence and coercive control can happen to anyone. \nPanelists:\nDenise Summers Survivor advocate with lived experience.\nKaren Gosbee Community advocate with lived experience related to mental health\, addiction\, and Domestic Violence.\nLeslie Hill Executive Director\, Discovery House \nModerator\nAlison Pidskalny\nStrategic advisor\, board director\, philanthropist\, and community leader.

SUMMARY:Power Stage: Claire Masikewich - Shift Happens\, How to Thrive Through Hard Times
DESCRIPTION:The concept is simple: control what you can\, and let go of what you can’t. But when\nlife throws challenges your way\, why does it feel so impossible to live by those words?\nIt’s because you need to build these habits now\, before things get hard.\nMost resilience strategies focus on “bouncing back” or getting through to the other side.\nClaire’s approach is different. It’s about learning how to move through challenges while\nyou’re still in them—with clarity\, intention\, and control.\nIn this powerful and uplifting keynote\, Claire shares her deeply personal journey\nthrough her daughter’s stage 4 cancer diagnosis\, alongside her lifelong experience with\nanxiety. Through this lived and deeply relatable perspective\, she offers practical\nstrategies for navigating not only life’s biggest challenges\, but also the everyday\npressures we all face. \nClaire highlights three key areas within your control—your thoughts\, your community\,\nand your actions—and shows how focusing your energy on the right things allows you\nto not only survive adversity\, but find strength and meaning within it.

SUMMARY:Workshop: Renae Barlow - Second Curve Leadership; Women Navigating Professional Transition
DESCRIPTION:Every woman reaches a point where the identity that built her career no longer matches where she is heading next. This is the second curve: the shift that occurs when experience and capability have outgrown the role\, title\, or definition a woman has been operating from\, whether by choice or by circumstance.\nThis two-hour workshop gives women a framework for recognizing where they are in that shift\, understanding why the middle of it often feels chaotic and undefined\, and making clear decisions about what to keep\, what to release\, and when. The harder question is not whether to change\, but how to know when the moment has arrived: when you have learned what a role had to teach you\, and what signals that it is time to move on.\nParticipants will leave with a practical tool for that decision\, along with language for a stage of transition that is rarely named and often navigated alone. This is not a session about starting over. It is about recognizing what remains once the titles are set aside and building the next chapter with clarity. \nRenae Barlow is the founder of Summit Stream\, a principal-led advisory practice for senior leaders and organizations navigating complex transitions in leadership\, innovation\, and emerging technology adoption.\nHer recognition includes Woman of Distinction and a nomination to Canada’s Most Powerful Women Top 100. Her work on second-curve leadership draws on the combination of lived transition and applied practice: the point at which experience and capability outgrow the identity a career was built around\, and the discipline required to recognize when it is time to move.

SUMMARY:Workshop: Carrie Tuttle - What Are You Actually Selling? Turning what you do into value that buyers pay for!
DESCRIPTION:Most of us describe our work by what we deliver. Buyers decide based on what changes for them. That gap is where capable businesses lose work they should have won.\nIn this workshop\, we’ll look at how to find your value in your client’s words rather than your own\, and how to build a value sentence you can say out loud without over-explaining: who it’s for\, what changes\, and what that change is worth. We’ll also cover what to do when the price question arrives before you’re ready for it.\nYou’ll leave with a draft of your own\, and one question to ask 3 past clients this month. \nBring your own lunch\, or pre-order from the Bungalow Club!\nCarrie Tuttle is the founder of Team Mojo\, a revenue leadership coaching firm in Calgary. With more than 25 years in B2B sales and marketing\, she helps founders and new leaders build teams that can sell without the founder in every conversation. Her approach combines systems and accountability with respect for the humans in the business. Carrie holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Haskayne School of Business and is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coach Federation. She hosts the podcast Suits & Sneakers: Leadership Unfiltered.

SUMMARY:Power Stage: Dr. Natasha Iyer - The New Rules for Human Performance
DESCRIPTION:Longevity science hacks to feel\, think and perform better in the next decade and beyond. \nFor generations\, success came with a trade-off: build the career\, grow the business\, accumulate the wealth\, and accept that declining energy\, increasing weight\, poor sleep\, and reduced vitality were simply part of the package… and getting older. \nToday\, science is challenging that assumption.\nAGING IS OPTIONAL. \nAdvances in longevity medicine\, human performance\, metabolic health\, and age optimization are changing what is possible in the second half of life. Many of today’s highest performers are no longer accepting that the price of high performance and perseverance\, and age-related decline as inevitable.\nInstead\, they are using evidence-based strategies to maintain energy\, sharpen cognitive performance\, protect their health\, and extend both lifespan and healthspan. \nIn this engaging presentation\, you’ll discover why the rules of healthy aging have changed\, what modern science reveals about maintaining peak performance as we age\, and how to position yourself to thrive personally and professionally for decades to come. \nThe future belongs to those who invest not only in their business\, but in their biology that powers it.

SUMMARY:The Gryph - Fashion Show !
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy an evening of forward fashion design and a glass of something sparkling. The Gryph Fashion Show at aspiHer. \nThe Gryph is a Calgary-based made-to-measure and bespoke womenswear brand founded by Claudine Adlington\, created around a simple belief: clothing should bedesigned to fit the woman\, not require the woman to fit the clothing. \nAfter more than 25 years in executive leadership\, mentoring women and navigating professional environments\, Claudine saw firsthand how much energy\nwomen spend trying to conform to expectations that were never built around them. That experience shaped her belief that getting dressed should feel personal\, empowering and expressive\, rather than frustrating or limiting. \nThe inspiration behind The Gryph is also deeply personal. Inspired by her son and the belief that individuality should be celebrated rather than hidden\, Claudine built the brand around seeing women as they are. That philosophy extends beyond measurements and fabric. Every appointment begins with a conversation about lifestyle\, confidence\, personal style\, ambitions and how each woman wants to feel when she walks into a room.

SUMMARY:The Brand is Female: TBiF Conversation - April Hicke & Lara Murphy
DESCRIPTION:A fireside chat with April Hicke\, Co-Founder and CEO\, Toast & Lara Murphy\, Co-Founder and CEO\, Ryan Murphy Construction & Calgary Wild FC \nJoin us in Calgary for the next instalment of The Brand is Female Conversation Series presented by TD Women in Enterprise. \nSome of the most powerful businesses are built not simply by identifying a gap in the market\, but by questioning why that gap exists in the first place. Join us for a conversation with Lara Murphy\, President and CEO of Calgary Wild FC and owner of Ryan Murphy Construction\, and April Hicke\, Founder and CEO of Toast\, two Calgary entrepreneurs who have built successful organizations while challenging conventions in industries where women have historically been underrepresented. \nFrom construction and professional sport to technology\, Lara has spent her career entering spaces where few women have traditionally held positions of ownership and leadership. As owner of Ryan Murphy Construction\, Calgary’s only female-owned commercial construction firm\, she has built a nationally recognized business while championing greater inclusion within the industry. Today\, as President and CEO of Calgary Wild FC\, she is helping build the business of professional women’s sport in Canada from the ground up\, creating new opportunities for athletes and a new generation of fans. \nApril is tackling another persistent gap: the representation and advancement of women in technology. She founded Toast to rethink how women access opportunities\, networks and compensation in the tech sector. What began as a community for women in tech has evolved into a fast-growing talent and recruitment company connecting thousands of women with employers while helping organizations build more diverse teams. In the process\, April is demonstrating how a clear social purpose can become the foundation for a scalable business. \nTogether\, Lara and April offer two compelling examples of what happens when entrepreneurs refuse to accept the status quo. Their stories raise bigger questions about who gets access to opportunity\, how businesses can challenge entrenched systems\, and what it takes to turn a mission into an organization built for growth. \nJoin us for an inspiring conversation about entrepreneurship\, breaking barriers\, building and scaling businesses\, creating opportunity\, and what it means to lead change from within industries that are themselves being transformed. \nLink to Register below.
